    Phone question

I have not had any problems using my IPhone over the last few years in Aruba. I'm on Verizon. But i just bought a new Samsung Galaxy S4, and am a bit concerned regarding my upcoming trip, end July. Anybody have experience using this phone down there? Anything special i need to be aware of, other than the usual stuff with the iphone, like turn off data roaming?

Should be just fine, like you said, just the same stuff you did with the iPhone.

The S4 from VZW is unlocked and ready for international use. SMS, voice and data should work - but you need to put an APN in for the data to work. Someone at the Setar or Digicel booth should be able to assist.

    An Access Point Name (APN)

A mobile device making a data connection must be configured with an APN to present to the carrier. The carrier will then examine this identifier to determine what type of network connection should be created.

OK, this is the third time i am posting this, it didnt show up the first two times.....

Thanks but what does that mean? What is it, a card? or a chip? Where do i get it? In the states? in Aruba? if in Aruba, is there a place near the Marriott where i can get it? Help?!!!!! Now i am more nervous. Data, includes text, and i need that.

How come i didnt need an APN with my IPhone?

i do not know if it means a card. i think it is just a configuration.....access point name
stop at the digicel or setar booth outside the luggage room at airport.
they should be able to help you.

or stop at the setar store in palm beach area, near the brickel bay hotel and have them set it up.

The APN is just a setting buried in there --- the first time I added a SIM they didnt set it up for me and I had to do some research to figure out why I wasn't getting data. The last few times I have been there the guy at the booth did it for me.
