Phone usage

Hello,

We will be needing a phone while on the Island for our entire stay, 10 days.
We expect only to call out to the states three or four times maybe 15 minutes per call.
As we are not up on this could anyone offer assistance on where and what to do?

Thanks everyone.

I would first look into you celluar phone carriers availability...most phones will work in Aruba, I would call your carrier though and see the compatability. The other thing you can do is rent a phone from Setar-they are a rental agency for phones and computer stuff. There is a kiosk in the foyer area as you are leaving the airport for rentals and I think you can go through your hotel as well. I learned a hard lesson last year by using the hotel phone to call back to the states...this year I will either rent or use my cell...good luck. If you stay on this website and look on the "about' tab at the bottom you can see info about travel communications as well....hope this helps a bit!

We use Verizon Wireless and they activated international calling for us. It's 1.99 a minute to make a call to the states, or to receive a call to the states. My wife is taking hers because her father is ill, I'm leaving mine in my car because I'm not speaking to anyone but my wife for 2 weeks.

Thank you all! I will set up my verizon phone to accept calls for the emergencies. Like mattnewhampshire we need to keep in touch since my wife's father has been ill.
