FAMOUS!!!! Once we got past the first security screening we had to sit in Duty Free area for about a hour because they wouldn't let you go to terminals until it was 2 hours before your flight, then when we got on line it was horrible again to get our luggage and get to the next screening. We were there at 12:15 for a 3:55 flight and by the time we got to the terminal we only had to sit for about 1/2 hr. It was a crazy day!! I have friends that left at 5:00 and they said they didn't have to wait as long as we did.

it is a lousy and an exhausting way to end a stay in paradise.
the airport authority needs to find a way unburden the weary traveler and make things easier.
all of those flights bunched up ..arriving and departing between noon and 4, especially on the weekends makes for much frustration.
seems to me that the airport authority and the airlines and us customs need to get together and come up with a plan to keep the people moving and getting them to the gates in a more timely manner.

if they put their heads together they should be able to figure something out............but with us customs doing the 2 hour "thing", that does indeed throw a big fat monkey wrench into the whole process

Also, the prime arrival time is early afternoon, so most flights "turn around" between 3 pm - 5 pm so there are a bunch of folks leaving at the same time.
How many people by choice, want to arrive in Aruba at night so the plane is not turned around until the next morning at the earliest? To me, that is losing half a day of vacation. If you arrive at your hotel at 10 pm, essentially you are only paying for a bed to sleep in that night Not the best "bang for your buck"
It seems a damned if they do, damned if they don't... only solution is more staffing and larger area which we ultimately end of paying for.
Are we all willing to pay even more than we are now?
    Lots of questions...

We also left on the 25th. Although it was busier than normal, we got there by 1:30 for a 4:40 flight on US air from start to finish we had to wait at US customs 15 min. more until they let us go. All in all not bad but could have been better. I am really thinking about going back thurs.- thurs. no more weekend stuff. ATA needs to do something, lots of unhappy people is not good for tourism.

Last month I flew back on a Sat and its the worse I have ever seen it. After the first screening, it was a solid line to get your checked bags and solid clear thru customs. I believe they had 7 customs people but you needed 3 hours to make it to the end.
