Planning Honeymoon June 2008

Hello, I'm new to this board but have been lurking the past couple of days and have gained a wealth of knowledge about Aruba. Kudos to this site!

My girl and I are planning a Honeymoon for June1-June8 2008 and wanted to get some feedback regarding the resorts. I've heard very good things about Bucuti specifically the Terra Suites. My fiance and I are looking for a laid back vacation on more of a secluded beach however we both like to have options for nightlife and dinning. I've heard Bucuti is one of the most romantic resorts on the island.

Can you reccommend any others that we should check out prior to booking? We are not opposed to staying in a high rise but prefer no kids and a less crowded beach.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

For your honeymoon, I say Bucuti is your best bet. You can get taxis to go to the high rises or downtown in the evening for some nightlife, or you can rent a car.

We've stayed in the high rise section the last 4 years and are trying the Bucuti this year for a nice, romantic and quiet vacation. We've heard nothing but rave reviews!!! The high rise area may be a bit more crowded than what you want in a honeymoon.

Congrats and good luck!!!

Thumbs up Bucuti Beach

If you're looking for less crowded beaches and no kids, you will love Bucuti. They are on one of the best (and biggest) beaches in Aruba, in my opinion. Bucuti is an adult oriented resort (they discourage kids) so it is quieter. By the way, my avatar is a picture taken at Bucuti Beach.

We stayed in the Bucuti wing (not the Tara Suites), which has just recently been totally renovated. It's beautiful, so if money is an issue, you could still opt for the Bucuti wing over the Tara suites.

Downside is there is not much nightlife nearby (except for Alhambra casino which is adjacent to Bucuti). So as janlel said, you could take cabs or rent a car to go downtown or to the highrise area. We rented a car for the week and loved having the flexibility to go wherever and whenever we wanted.

Good luck with your decision and best wishes on your upcoming marriage!

Return to One Happy Island, January 7, 2009!

Thumbs up

>>> "prefer no kids and a less crowded beach"
---- That equals Bucuti.
