To All,

I will be visiting Aruba December 3 - December 10 and will be staying at the Tara Beach Suites (Bucuti). I only carry a Discover Card, is this frequently accepted by restaurants and other various merchants?

Visa is the most widely accepted. A few places have denied taking a Discover Card.

Credit and debit cards are widely accepted throughout the island.

Discover, only at certain places (I know that some restaurants in Aruba do not accept Discover cards.)

Brian...They accept all major credit cards
and cash...my advice to you is to notify your credit card company before you go

MasterCard and visa accepted just about everywhere. American Express at most places and Discover at some places.

Would say like 80% take Discover. So bring some American Express Travel Checks as every restaurants we have been to over the years take those. Would say 99% take Master and Visa. At your resort look for the free book called "Menu". It contains one page ads on approx 25 restaurants. Each ad shows hours, phone #, day closed, if SC is added, selected menu items with prices, location on map, and what Charge Cards are accepted.

Brian, 'they dont take them all' as described in here. Also as written in here the Discover card is not accepted 100% everywhere. Most but not all, as Visa is.
