Yes prices are going way up out of sight recently. Greed has set in down there. time for America to find somewhere else to go for vacation and let Aruba starve instead, if they don't wake up.

Last year (July) Hyatt was $275 for ocean island view. This year $300, and you get one night free) so they are up, but not that much. Go to their website, and you will see the prices. You can get a garden view for under $300

Vacationing is expensive. It's supply versus demand and the demand in Aruba is high. So sorry you won't be going any time soon, Lisa. We'll miss you....NOT!

Re: Are prices of hotels going up

I agree. The prices are getting out of hand. This year we may have to look elsewhere to vacation. I don't want to; however, the greed is definitely showing and I can't afford to play their game. In January we stayed at the Allegro. For January 2006, they want more than double what we paid this past January. Renovations or no renovations...That's ridiculous. My husband and I love Aruba but I'm sure we can find someplace nice at a reasonable price. With the bad publicity and the hotel greed, Aruba may be headed for trouble.

that`s why to have a timeshare -finaly pays-off.We paid $10.000 for each - week #51,#52-few years back(for 60 years lease). Now they charge people to rent the same unit $280 a night....that is a big saving.

We booked two months ago at The Holiday Inn AI and we have been checking the prices daily. They went up $500.00 for the week on the whole package including airfare
