*QUESTION ABOUT CHANGE?

I have been to Aruba once and I am going back in October for two weeks, so obviously I liked it a lot. But I am on this board every so often and I notice that many of the frequent travelers to Aruba, those that have been to Aruba a few times or many, many more. Seem to say that there have been many changes and they always throw in that some of these changes have been negative.
I thought Aruba was beautiful, comfortable and very relaxing. I liked the people and just had a great time. But I would like to know everyones thoughts on the changes that have occurred. I may have been looking through rose colored glassses but I just cant wait to get back. Some of these threads raise concerns and make me wonder!
Thanks

Re: *QUESTION ABOUT CHANGE?

I don't know about the change in Aruba. But my family is from Aruba and when we travle there it's like home. When mother use to send sister, brother and myself to vist our grandmother we all dreaded the day to come back to New York at times we just stood there crying not to get on the plane. Now that we're all grown our kids does the ame thing. Aruba will all ways be a beautiful place to live in no matter what anyone says. When there are others that hear about aplace that is so wonderful and peaceful they migrate there and make it not so wonderful because they bring their not so good ways to another country and make it bad for that country. But Aruba willall ways come form over that and still be the loving lsland there is.

Re: *QUESTION ABOUT CHANGE?

We've been going to Aruba almost annually for the past 10 years - it's were we love to go to relax and recharge. We live in Florida but come to Aruba for her breathtaking beaches. The people are the most gracious and go out of their way to make the tourists comfortable. The restaraunts are so good we have to stay longer to hit all the favorites we crave during the year. Yes, there have been changes, but my main concern is the recent and proposed growth. I love Marriott, but I think the Surf Club is massive. Is the Ritz Carlton really needed on the north side of the Marriott hotel or would it disrupt the ecological flow of the area? While I want the best for Aruba and all the wonderful people who reside on this beautiful island, I hope a happy medium can be found. With all the expansion, the 2 lane roadways going to become totally inadequate. I would hate to see the Aruba we all love become the next Cancun.

Re: *QUESTION ABOUT CHANGE?

We have been going to the island for over twenty years several times a year and sure there are changes just as there are in your community. Lots of condos being built, more traffic in town, too many jewelry shops, etc., but the people are the same - as wonderful as always. Leaving next week and can't wait. Go and have a good time.

There is nothing you can do to change the greatest place on Earth and those that are negative.

Don't worry what others have to say just go enjoy yourself in Paradise!

Re: *QUESTION ABOUT CHANGE?

Hi

Change is only relative to the construction, but the people; beaches and wonderful weather and reception makes up over and over again.

Re: *QUESTION ABOUT CHANGE?

Aruba is wonderful - Been there several times in the last three years - Every time we go there is more being built (hopefully it stops soon because I agree we don't want it to turn into the next cancun - Far to beautiful to become that) - Great resturants - The people are wonderful (you always have the one or two who are not but that is any where) - Great place to go and relax - Always sunny and warm
