A Question for Charles

Charles,
I was wondering if you could tell me if the Aruba Department of Transportation or Department of Motor Vehicles sells expired Aruba license plates. Do you know of a website in which they can be purchased and mailed to the U.S.? Also is there a location in Aruba that you know of that sells authentic expired plates?

Thank you Charles!

Mike

Re: A Question for Charles

Mike,
How many plates do you need?

While there isn't an official place (that I could find) to buy them, we (as an island) are in the process of putting new plates on our cars and it would be opportune for you to get old plates now, As a matter of fact, I would be willing to give you ours.
Aside from this, they have the regular tourist plates that say ARUBA etc., however if you are a collector, these are not of significant value.

Re: A Question for Charles

I just came back from Aruba and bought to plates right off the street on the water front. They are everywhere.

Re: A Question for Charles

Hey - that is great information.

I had not a clue in the world that they were available at the waterfront or the hotel bazars.

Mike - my man - problem solved!

Re: A Question for Charles

Hello Bridzilla,

We will be on the friendly island for the very first time this Saturday, March 26 and will be staying for the week.

If you would be so kind, could you please provide more specifics on the "Bazar held at the ABC every week" (location, times, etc.).

Thank you very much in advance.

Jay

Re: A Question for Charles

That is great information. I cant wait until I go down to Aruba in August once again. I just started to expand my collection a few weeks ago. I started off with two and am now up to eleven. Hopefully I can add a few more in August.

Thank you all.
Mike
P.S.: Charles, I enjoy reading your weather reports. It makes me feel like I am in Aruba even though I am here in New York. Thanks!!
