Question Questions about booking for the "off season"

Last August, My boyfriend and I went to Aruba for the first time (Aruba + me = love at first sight!)

We stayed at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino and honestly, I managed a sweet deal (less than 175 dollars per night!!!)

Of course, I am trying to maneuver another trip down in Aug, '10 -- i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the best time to book? I just looked now and it was no where near what I paid.

(Of course, I really loved the Marriott and the Radisson looked great as well -- any opinions on which one is a better stay? Beach, bar, food, ect wise?)

More importantly...

Any thoughts on the best time to book the hotel for an August stay???

Input is welcome!

time to look is now
have you thought of going to redweek.com and looking to rent a timeshare unit.
you CAN get something nice for less than $175 per night
you can most likely get a 1 bedroom timeshare for a range of $1000 per week, maybe less.

i have stayed at the marriott stellaris using priceline name your own price for about $95 per night

utilize this forum and check out the timeshare category
check out redweek.com
see if you can visit the resorts websites

Keep looking - Marriott has on and off promotions often.

If you work for any big companies some of them have negotiated discounts with marriott as well - look into that.

Book now
Last year i booked around this time and each time the price came down i rebooked. Rebooked 3 times.
Just dont book one of these specials where its non cancellable and you have to pay everything now.

Agreed - always read the fine print before booking. Marriott is pretty good at disclosing the non-refundable rates up front. Not so sure of other hotels.
