"rain ? and other weather concerns?"

What is it with the Tropical Storms going through Aruba.....looks like this one will gather some strength. I called my Friend and they are already preparing for floods. Stay safe everyone and go high.

As Aruba is outside of the Hurricane belt thy don't run the risk of getting hit, at most the storm might pass close and the island will get a lot of rain, as has been the case over the past couple of years. It's also very rare that Aruba will get rainfall that lasts more than five to ten minutes. If it goes beyond that then you can expect flooding to occur, especially as a good majority of the drains on the island are not that deep. Hopefully after the major downpour that they experienced in November of 2016, the folks on the island would know how to prepare and not take the chance with flood waters coming into their homes and businesses. Compared to the heavy rains and flooding experienced in the other islands, Aruba can consider itself safe during Hurricane Season.

    From Meteo:

At 5PM today, Monday 17th July, 2017, an area of disturbed weather located
approximately 780km east of the southern Windward islands, has become tropical storm Don.

Tropical storm Don is expected to enter the Caribbean as a storm, but weaken gradually and become a
    tropical wave before reaching Aruba.

No direct impacts expected from tropical storm Don to Aruba since it will be a tropical wave again near Aruba.
Models hint that most showers and winds related to the then projected remnants of tropical storm Don will
stay north of Aruba between wednesday evening through midnight hours of thursday.

    CenterÔ€™s latest and forecast positions:

    DATE/TIME, POSITION, INTENSITY, LOCATION

Monday July 17 8:00 PM, 11.2N 53.8W,Tropical storm, 650 KM ESE of Barbados
    Tuesday July 18 8:00 PM, 11.9N 60.8W,Tropical storm, 1000 KM E of Aruba
    Wednesday July 19 2:00 PM, 12.2N 67.0W,Tropical storm, 315 KM E of Aruba
Wednesday July 19 7:00 PM, Tropical wave, roughly 250 KM E of Aruba

WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME ARUBA IS NOT UNDER ANY
TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCH OR WARNING. The Meteorological Department
of Aruba will be closely monitoring this system as it moves
across the southern Windward Islands on Tuesday and will issue
    another bulletin within 24 hours

thank you jacki for posting the Aruba Meteo report.
denis phillips on ch 11 here in tampa bay, said it would die out before it gets any stronger.
last night on the news he made mention that the ABC islands would maybe get some much needed rain.
