Rainy Season in Aruba

Predicting rainfall in the Dutch Caribbean 17 December 2001

The infuence of the mainland 60 km away is large: during the rain season most precipitation is late at night and in the early morning, opposite to the usual tropical pattern, which exists on the mainland. This is caused by the sea-continent breeze. The variability of the rain is high: the standard deviation is as large as the mean in most months.

Traditionally, the year is divided in three 4 - month seasons.
Oct - Jan is the rain season
Feb - May the dry season
Jun - Sep bring the small rains
The variability of the rain is high

7 a.m. Sunrise Rainy December 31

8 a.m. Showers December 31

9 a.m. Showers Headed Out to Sea December 31

Sometime early that afternoon December 31

Arubalisa Help

I am planning on visiting Aruba from 10-25 to 10-29. It looks like it is raining everyday with thunderstaorms..should we reschedule or will it really only be an hour or two of rain with sunshine the rest of the day. Thunderstorms dont allow for swimming and such...so i am a bit concerned. HELP!
