Re: Honeymoon

We are hoping to go to Aruba for our honeymoon in Aug but I am not sure which hotel to stay at. I have checked through the main hotel websites and all of them look very good. Has anyone gone to Aruba for their honeymoon and if so where did you stay. Also out of the main hotels which one stands out from the rest!

Thanks for you help.

Re: Honeymoon

Hi Siobhan,

Many honeymooners seem to prefer Bucuti Beach Resort. The resort does not have a 'no children' policy, but you will not see too many kids there. It's a smaller property, located in the low-rise section of Eagle Beach. The beach there is beautiful, and while we have never stayed there, have heard many good things about their new 'Tara' wing. I'd suggest checking out their website at Bucuti.com.

As far as the high-rise hotels go, we are partial to the Marriott properties. Marriott's 'footprint' consists of the Stellaris Resort and Ocean and Surf Clubs (both are timeshare facilities). Of all the high-rise chain hotels, their balconies are the largest; great for having breakfast or watching the sunset. The properties share several restaurants and bars, all a hop-skip-jump away from each other, which is nice because you have many choices in a small area. Of course, there are also several fantastic restaurants off-property, such as Madame Janette, Marandi, Gasparito and Sunset Grille (these were our favorites).

If you think you may be interested in one of the Marriott properties, I will have a lock-off unit at the Ocean Club for rent (ocean-view; similar in size to a hotel room). E-mail me directly if you would like more information.

Whatever you decide to do, best of luck.

Re: Honeymoon

Siobhan,

My husband and I prefer the Radisson over all the rest. We had our wedding reception there and spent the honeymoon there as well. It's beautiful, which I'm sure you saw when you were checking out the hotel websites. It's total relaxation, great service and wonderful beach / pool area. Have a wonderful time!

Re: Honeymoon

I went to aruba on my honeymoon 2 years ago and stayed at the Hyatt. It was very nice!
We bought timeshare at PBV and plan to go every year. Congrats, and I hope you choose Aruba because it's a special place.

Re: Honeymoon

Jen,

My wife and I stayed at the Hyatt for our honeymoon and loved it (we've been back every year since). The service is wonderful, the grounds are beautiful, they have one of the best casino's on the island and Ruinas Del Mar is a perfect place to dine on your honeymoon. Enjoy!

Re: Honeymoon

Hi,

my wife & I stayed at Divi Divi, for our honeymoon in 03 & have been back every year since. They have some fun events for honeymooners & you can't beat the all-inclusive. Here's some tips; 1. Book at the Tamiryn with the package that include use of divi facilities. (you'll save a little money & sacrifice nothing) 2. get a massage - its worth the money. 3. do not rent a car, the bus will take you downtown for shopping for 2$ 4. Go sit thru the timeshare schpeal & get your free jeep safari - you do not need to buy & it only takes a hour. (we bought a timeshare & love it!) The jeep safari is a day long affair that is a lot of fun. 5. Aruba has wonderful restaurants, but for this trip-your honeymoon- just stay at the resort. The Red Parrot & Paprazzi restaurant included at the resort are fantastic. The one exception to this is Madame Jeanettes. You'll have to make reservations on-line before you go (about a month or 2 ahead) but trust me, you will not be disappointed. cabbing it there is not bad 20-25 round trip. 6. Check out the black hog bash at the black hog saloon - again short cab ride, fun & great BBQ. & finally 7. have a great time! Aruba is truley heaven-on-earth! bon bini!
