Re Wine

We are from the Calif wine area and wonder can we bring in wine to Aruba, it would be nice for gifting and drinking. Anyone ?

Yes, 1 liter pre person over 16 yrs. Check in baggage bubble wrapped and bagged, should be good, no reds on the cloths right?

You know you only have to pay duty for more if caught, or declared (no jail time) there has been a lot of other things that have crossed boarders right!

Well I think the duty would be alot less then if I bought the wine in Aruba. Good Question how expensive is wine (decent) in Aruba at Liquour stores

Buy your wine at Ling and Sons grocery store. Try some Chilean.

Not a big wine fan but Chilean isn't to bad. DW likes it.

Wines

I love Riesling wine - I know what German wines I like but what is there in Aruba? will they have some domestic brands from the states? as is Ling in Sons the best place to purchase wine???

They will have domestic brands from the states but the prices will be quite a bit higher. We've been trying various Chilean wines when we travel to Aruba and they're really good and inexpensive. I went to both Kong Hing and Ling & Sons this year for wine and each has a different selection. Can't say that I liked one better than the other but we usually do most of our shopping at Kong Hing. There is also a new wine store that just opened up in The Village area across the street from the Radisson - it's located between Papillon and Ben & Jerry's. I went to a wine tasting there one night and they had a pretty interesting selection, too.
