Since you're used to Texas weather, Aruba should be nothing to you and there is always a constant breeze. No worries...just enjoy!

Usually not

Usually there is a nice breeze so you do not feel the heat. Sometimes in Maryland with no breeze, humity; its feel hotter than Aruba. Go figure.

Aruba is hot, but there is nearly always a breeze blowing which makes the heat bearable. Jump in the pool or ocean and you will be fine. The best part is that although you are by the water, the humidity does not make it a stifling sticky hot.

Hot? HA! Understatement of the year! They say that the breeze helps, but it sure doesn't help me. It's just hot wind! I love Aruba, but make sure the pool and the ocean are close by. Thank God for air conditioning! And wear lots of sunscreen- no matter how dark you are. It's strong! I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Re: is it really that hot

Kari, The problem is you are sooo close to the equater, and the wind blowing all the time feels good. Well you are FRYING and you don't even know it. You see alot of burned people. In Feb I was talking to a older gentleman out in the ocean. After a half hour, I told him that he better get a hat on and some sun screen. The next day he was beet red and his eyes were all swelled up. He told me that was the first time in his life that it ever happened to him. He stayed out of the sun the rest of the week.

it is hot at the moment, but we still have a nice breeze and a ocean the will help you to get cooler. If that doesn't work, take a nice ice cold balashi or frozen drink

Re: is it really that hot

It is hot and very windy. If you are from Texas you will be like home. I lived there until I was 14 and never heard about locals fainting because of the heat like in NY. Just do what you do in Texas. Do not overexpose to the sun. Do not fall asleep directly under the sun. A lot of sunscreen and enjoy your vacation.
