OPINIONS
The nicest beach?
Eagle beach for large expanses
North coast inlets for scenic (be careful water is rough)
Where to dine?
Try something that doesn’t exist in your home town.
Try something that you feel is indicative of the Caribbean or Aruba
Fish (if you like it) is a good menu option
The best shows?
The Wyndham and the Renaissance both have good shows
Timeshare?
If you go on a tour, listen to the product offer and forget about the gift.
If you own it, enjoy it to the max
If you just bought, try not to have too many second thoughts
If it isn’t for you – then it isn’t
Best Beer
Balashi, El Presidente and Heineken all run a tight first
Make sure it’s cold
Best horse back riding outfit
They all seem OK but my son likes Rancho Daimari.
Best car rental
Tough one. They come in two categories:
Small operations – Tropic (owned and operated by Hans)
Large operations – Haven’t heard complaints about Toyota Rent a Car.
Transport from airport to resort.
Taxis are plentiful
There are several bus operators
There is a Limo service
Should I leave a tip?
Restaurant tipping is not expected at all restaurants since there is a service charge included in most bills. That said, it is not out of line to leave a tip when the service merits it. The amount is up to you and your wallet.
Best Casino?
No way am I going to get blamed on that one. It is completely your call.
Hope the above helps. As I get more questions and notice a pattern, I will do the same again.
