This is a good point: this year we are trying to carry only two small ( carry ons)...Most of the clothes that we used to take, ends up seating on the hangers and unused ...like 5-6 pair of shoes, 5-6 different swimsuits, and so on and on...Lets do it this year on short supply.

I want to book another trip just to have a reason to try to under pack!!!!

I just got back from a 4 day Vegas trip and, yes, I over packed. I figured it was different than just needing a swimsuit all day and would need actual clothes during the day. Sooo, I had shorts, jeans, sweatpants, pants for dinner, tops that I could wear walking around and shopping, tops to wear to dinner, sweaters and a jacket. I took shoes for daytime, shoes to wear with my dinner attire. I contemplated a pair of boots to wear with the jeans, but I thought better and left them home.

I need to learn to mix and match and realize I can wear a top to dinner and then wear it the next day with shorts or jeans. And, I can wear the black palazzo pants more than once. Heck, we all wear jeans over and over.

Well, we had the best of intentions but we ended up with 2 checked bags, a wheeled carry-on and a book bag for 10 nights. In our defense, one of the checked bags is full of snorkel gear and some snacks, and the other checked bag isn't our biggest suitcase. I am pretty sure this is the most we have ever packed on the trip we had planned on packing light and doing a load or 2 of laundry. That sounded great until we started laying out clothes and really thinking about when we would actually do it.
Not sure when, but we will be back

We'll be there 10 nights as well. I ended up with what will be 2 checked bags and a very large handbag that doubles as a carryon. The checked bags are fairly light at around 30 lb each so it's easy wheeling them around. Going to Aruba I never mind checking bags because we haven't had to wait long for them in Aruba. Coming back to Boston, well that's a different story.

We bring each a carry on. We fill two boxes with suntan lotion, shampoo, etc, coffee, snacks, etc so we empty there, throw the boxes out. Aruba's luggage carousel is great. Newark's is a nightmare. We have a washer/dryer in the house so we recycle clothes. I use the travel space bags. I have packing down to a science. I always have room in my carry on because I shop a lot in Aruba. I mix & match.

I finally packed light for tomorrow's trip. I have a roll up garmet bag where I can layer my bathing suit, short pants, t shirt, sox, underwear etc. Then there are 2 large pockets where I can fit sneakers, lotions, shaving cream etc. My first attempt packing I could not close the roll up garmet bag so thru trial and error I kept taking clothes out and so I ended up packing light.

Not at all. Only 1 bathing suit, 2 short pants, 2 polo shorts, 1 short sleeve dress shirt, 2 t shirts and a few sox and underwear. I'm only there for 5 days/
