Renaissance Aruba

Considering staying at the Renaissance Aruba. Is this resort on a beach or is it downtown? I've heard two different stories. If anyone has stayed at the Renaissance, I'd like to obtain some feedback.

Many thanks!

Re: Renaissance Aruba

Have not stayed there but it is Downtown away from the High rise and not on the beach. They have a shuttle that takes you to your own private beach. I have heard both good and bad... Such as not beable able to walk right onto the beach....

Re: Renaissance Aruba

The Renaissance is "downtown"- NOT on a beach...in the lobby there are boats that take you to their own "Private Island"- it was OKAY...but we prefer to be on the "Beach" and be able to go back and forth to our room....when we want with out taking an elevator or a boat to come and go!! If you still looking around...I would suggest one of the High-Rises on the beach (not LaCabana-it's across the street)even better Manchebo-Divi-Tamarian- Aruba Beach club are all on the beach and very, very Islandy...which what we love!!

Re: Renaissance Aruba

Stayed at the Renaissance Time Share, Which has some of the units on the beach, however, they have a private Island that is pretty good. The hotel, is in downtown, there is a canal that takes you from the hotel to the private island, also pretty good. We stayed at the time share, but layed by the pool at the hotel most of the time. The pool at the time share had too many kids. We are going back to aruba for the 5th time on July 1, we are staying at the marriott surf.

Re: Renaissance Aruba

The Renaissance is Downtown, a very nice hotel. You need to take a little ferry boat to the beach which is nice, quiet. The hotel provides the ride over. I don't really recommend this hotel for a family.

The other hotel the other person may be thinking of is the Radisson that is on the beach, absolutely beautiful. Perfect for family or couple.

Either way you'll be in Aruba and you cannot go wrong! Hope this helps! If you have any other questions I'd be more than happy to answer them for you.

Re: Renaissance Aruba

Either your in the Ocean Suites which has direct access to a small beach or the rooms across the street that are more central. No matter where you stay at the Renaissance, both have a little boat that takes you to their private island (5-10 mins), which is lovely. We really enjoyed our stay, have fun!

Re: Renaissance Aruba

The Renaussabce is in town. They have 2 areas. One is the hotel and the other is timeshare. The timeshare has a small beach and 2 large pools. The hotel has a pool. They are not located on the beach but have a private island that is a short boat ride. The hotel is beautifully decorated and so is the timeshare. You can use both areas when stay at either site. We have been staying at the Renaissance now for the past 16 yrs. I wouldn't trade my timeshare for anything. I also own one week at Divi Village it is quiter don't get me wrong The Renaissance is not noisy. They private island is a dream. They have all the facilities you could want even a restaurant. If you decide to stay there I'm sure you will enjoy every moment. There is a lot of restaurants in town with in walking distance and all the shops. If you have further question please feel free to e-mail me.

Re: Renaissance Aruba

We stay at the Renaissance every year and love it. We stay in the Marina Towers, which is just across the street from the Ocean Suites. Ocean Suites are on the beach. There is a private Island that you can get a boat to, runs every 15 minutes or so. It's beautiful.

We love it. The Marina is less family oriented, if you have children then I would opt for the Ocean Suites as they have a lot more for the kids in the way of larger pools etc.

Both hotels are located around a 7 minute taxi ride from the airport so it's convenient too.

Highly recommend this hotel. Food is great, people are awesome.

Enjoy.
