We have been to Aruba 3 times now,our first 2 trips we stayed at the renaissance on the beach front. I highly recommend it for your first trip there. The short boat trip to your own private island is actually fun! you are in walking distance of shopping and restaurants. The people there couldn't be more friendly and accomodating! We now have a time share at the Marriott surf club, but I must admit,even tho we are in walking distance to the beach in the new place, I miss the Renaissance! Make sure you get a room with an ocean view! You can also watch the cruise ships come and go from your balcony. Also make sure you do the ATV 4 hr extravaganza...had a blast doing that!My favorite thing so far!

hi my wife and i have been to aruba 9 times and will be going back for our 10th time this october for 18 days..we have always stayed at the renaissance marina and have never been disappointed..make sure you book an oceanview room..it's the only hotel in the middle of town and you have everything around you at your disposal..they are constantly upgrading the property..the private island is gorgeous..don't listen to nay sayers..you will love it there..enjoy
