Question Renaissance Island

As the time gets closer, I seem to be asking more questions that I just can't find answers for.

Is Renaissance Island open to the public? Or, do you have to be a guest of the hotel?

Renaissance Island is open to the public. If you are staying at the hotel, it is free. If you are not, there is a fee. I haven't looked in to the fee myself, but I believe I read on another board that the fee is around $50 per person for the day.

Have a fun trip!

I believe they upped the fee for non-hotel guests to $75.00 for the day - a bit pricey. If you are not staying at the Renaissance, DePalm Island might be a better option for $90.00 including food and beverages.

See you in Aruba!!!

You could always treat yourself and your lady to some time at the spa on Renaissance island. For a price of course.

The fee you pay to get onto Renaissance Island includes lunch at their resturant, and a drink, if I am not mistaken. I know the fee went up, but I am not sure on it. Others staying at the Renaissance must show their room key, and insert it into the key reader before they can get onto the boat. Its a beautiful island and has a lot to offer, tennis courts, work out room, adult and family beach, kids can fish, chase the iguana's, play volley ball, rent mats or paddle boats, or just float in the protected beach area. AH, makes me want to be there right now.

No you need a key pass from your room at the Renaissance in order to board the boat to get to the island. You can however book a package at Okeanos Spa or pay the fee for the day pass, of $75, if it is available on that day (hotel occupancy <90%).

Cindyo, I was on Renaissance Island during our stay in May and July '07 and I didn't recall seeing the tennis courts, gym, or paddle boats. Where were these located? We always went to the right for the adult beach where the flamingos are, but did walk around alittle. We rented the floats(mats) for $5/day, and we saw the restaurant/bar area in the family section. We love the peace and quiet, with the occassional plane going by. We own at the OC, but have to add a few extra days now just to be able to go out to the island.
