Re: Renaissance Private Island

Amber...As the ferry arrives at the island...to your right ( over the bridge ) is the Adult side of the beach. Lots of shade areas...hamocks...this is also the side that the Nature Walk is on. You will want to have water shoes..as there is some rocks as you enter the water.

On the left side as you arrive there is a small gift shop...A towel hut that you can also get rafts, ect. Keep going left and there is the Family side of the beach...no water shoes needed...A small cafe and beyond that fitness center...tennis courts.
You will need a room key per/person to board the shuttle from the Marina.

On the adult side..out past the rock barrier is some fine Snorkeling, but be careful out their. From time to time the Adult side will have Topless bathers...but the are discreet. Great little Island that should be seen by All. Best wishs to you.<BigPapa>

Re: Renaissance Private Island

Big Papa,

Thanks for the information. My husband and I are leaving next Monday, March 6 and returning home the 14th. We are so excited. It's the first time we are staying at the Renaissance. October 2004 we stayed at the Marriott Stellaris Casino...that was a great place too. We love Aruba !!!

I am hoping we can go to the lighthouse to see the sunrise. I love to sleep, but I'm thinking it's just (1) morning to wake up a bit early.

Where exactly is the web cam on Eagle Beach ? I see the photo on the website, but where is it located on the beach ?

I'm looking forward in reading about the rest of your trip.

Re: Renaissance Private Island

Amber....I wish you Safe travel and a Great time...If you want to go out to the Lighthouse for Sunrise..get out their while it is still dark...and watch it lighten up all around you. I went several times in my 2 week stay..and alot has to do with how the Clouds are formed, but they were all good.

As far as the Web cam goes...it is right by the Bucuti. If you face the Bucuti parking lot...it is on the Beach to the right. There will be a pole on the beach with a Sign.about 50 ft. from the sidewalk. You go to that sign and turn around..and the Camera is mounted on the roof of the building straight ahead of you. On the right side of the roof. You don't know when it is Zooming. It is going to take 3 Zoom from 8:48 till 9:15 ( if it's woring right ).<BigPapa>

Chris...No Nude sunbathing their.<BigPapa>

Re: Renaissance Private Island

Amber,

Enjoy the island it is so wonderful. My husband & I were there last year for the first time and hope to go back. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. (He doesn't like crowds). We went both sides of the beach, Adult & Family. They were both enjoyable. We went every day and in the afternoon headed back to the pool for happy hour and laid on rafts from 4:00-6:00 for 2 drinks for the price of one. It was great!!!
