Karen - Whether the all inclusive is worth it will be for you to decide afterword, but they have Many places to eat and drink and I would think you will have a great time. The private island is Fantastic. Remember that each person will need their room key with them to board there shuttle boat. You will simply love the time there. Good Luck and let everyone know what YOU thought.<BigPapa>

Karen,
In my opinion, there are too many excellent restaurants in Aruba to go all inclusive. You should check out Madame Jeanette's, Marina Pirata, El Gaucho's, Le Dome, and a few others. We stay at the Renaissance yearly and again in my opinion, there are just too many places that have better food, better atmosphere, and better scenery. We do love the Renaissance though.

Re: rennaiasse Aruba

Karen;
My wife and I stayed at the Ren last Sept.

We had a great time. I'm sure the all-inclusive should serve you well. We didn't have that option and the meals were a little pricey. But they were all GREAT.

We really liked the LG Smith Rest. in the Ren. also "ElGaucho" down the street.

We especially enjoyed the private island... the the pool in the Marina tower.

Hope you have as great a time as we did.

Re: rennaiasse Aruba

I AM NOT sure where else you can eat but my recommendation to anyone going to aruba is never do the all inclusive. Some or many islands, all inclusives are recommended but never in Aruba. Too many great places to go and the island is so safe its nice to be able to go around the island basically carefree.

Re: rennaiasse Aruba

Totally depending on your style. We have been to Aruba Ren. many times. I never thought the AI would be worth it but.... Last April Vacation ran up a $500 bar bill at the pool during one great afternoon! (We were with 3 families, food too.) When we went back in September just the two of us, we were offered many different AI plans upon check in, we declined them, proceeded to wait for our room to be ready, 3 hours and so much fun later we ran up $200 between drinks and food at the Blue bar! Needless to say we went right to the front desk and signed up for drinks only. Two days and many meals later we signed up for the Whole thing, wishing we would have done it right off! The amount we figured we saved, no problem going to a different place once or twice. We did the flying fishbone & loved it. The L.G. Smith Steakhouse was great and part of the AI we ate there 2-3 times. Have a wonderful Trip!

Re: rennaiasse Aruba

Hi, We are leaving April29 and staying there too. I did call to get more info on the all inclusive. There is 15 places for you at the resort and private Island.I hear they are all very good. It would cost us 115.00 a day per person for the AI. We have decided to pass on the AI only because we would like to try other places out side the resort. I believe we will be spending the same amount but be able to choose. No matter what from what I have heard you can not go wrong..
Have you looked up the renaissance on www.arubatravelinfo.com or www.expedia.com This is a great way to look up info about the resort. I found all the restaurants this way. When are you going?

Re: rennaiasse Aruba

We were at the Ren in March. The AI didn't really make any sense for us. It just depends on your eating style. When we vacation, we usually enjoy either a big breakfast or lunch and then head out for a nice dinner. Searching out restaurants away from downtown prompted us to leave the area around the hotel and explore a bit more. We averaged about $90.00 - $100.00/day for two people including a few drinks along the way. If you like to eat all 3 meals especially having dinner at one of the more expensive restaurants then it might make sense for you. If I tried to eat/drink $115.00 worth a day...I'd be in bad shape. This is definitely a personal preference.

Re: rennaiasse Aruba

Will be going in July and purchased a daily breakfast and open bar package for $55 per day. I'll drink my money's worth by 10 AM. Left dinner open to try other places for many of the reasons already mentioned. Have fun!
