Please offer recommendations on rental car agencies. Which have best prices, best service, etc.

Hi Betty....1st, have a great trip. I have rented from Hertz with a AAA discount in the past and found the rates to be OK. This year we are renting from Thrifty, also rec'd a decent rate. One year we rented from Superior in Nord, BAD experiences, 5 cars in 7 days, long story! Stick with the Big names, less problems.
Three weeks and counting for us, can't wait.

I have to give credit to royal rental car. And I will tell you why I will never use anyone but Royal. (sorry this is long)

I rented a Jeep for the week and a BMW Z3 on my wedding day. Check in at the airport was very fast I didn’t have to wait a half hour like I did last year with economy rental. They called me the day they were to drop off the BMW at my hotel and said it was returned moments ago and the customer who dropped it off complained about an ignition problem and they said the part had to be ordered from the states and asked if I want another vehicle but all the had was a large sedan. I was disappointed and said I would call back after talking to my soon to be wife (the car was for her) she said don’t bother large vehicles scare her and on foreign roads I didn’t blame her so I called them back and let them know that I would not be needing the vehicle that Jen was set on the BMW. They apologized and I hung up I got a call 5 minutes later from the owner of Royal he apologized again and said that they could not recreate the ignition problem that the previous customer complained about and if I wanted he would drop off the car free of charge and I could use it for the day and if I had any problems to just leave the car wherever it was and they would pick it up. The car was fine ran great I think the other driver may have had a “cant drive stick shift issue”. and one last detail, I left the keys with the desk clerk at Marriott and called Royal to pick up the BMW so we could go to renaissance island they said no problem bet after returning to my hotel I realized I left my safe key on the BMW key ring!!! Called them right away to see if they had it and see if I could pick it up they asked where I was and said don’t worry we are on our way. They dropped off the key to me 10 minutes later.

Bottom line Royal Rental Car rocks and I will never use anyone else!

I have been on the net since mid-fall comparing prices. ECONO seems to be the best deal. Call you credit card company and they will tell you how to make the choice of insurance coverage.

Just came back and rented a car from Amigo. Everything went well. Only thing I didn't like was that the car had a bunch of scratches around it and we marked them down. When I dropped it off she told me that this one scratch wasn't there before - I argued and she let up.

We rented from Econo last time and it was a good experience. This year, I checked around for the best price and it was Econo again, so we are booked for our vacation which starts this Sunday. Hopefully all will go fine this time. If not, I will post on this boards to let everyone know. But I do not anticipate any problems as they get alot of good reviews.

We always rent from Economy and feel you get a great car, good service at the desk and the best price!
