I don't mind too much the new resorts, however, the airport arriving and departing may not be able to handle any more resorts. The powers that be need to be aware that the airport cannot handle any more flights.

That airport is one of the most frustrating parts of every trip I have ever taken to Aruba.... BUT --- after visiting St. Lucias Airport this past Spring --- it made Aruba's airport seem like heaven!!!

Really? Do you think it's unique to the US terminal? We fly into the other terminal (from Canada) and it's really easy.

Work has already started there. A local also told us there will be a bowling alley cinema complex built there! Seems a shame to me. Same local also told us that the government are planning to move the red light part of San Nicholas up by Kia meaning that San Nicholas can become more like palm Beach? Not sure if that's correct but it's what we have heard....

That's interesting...a friend from the island told us that he heard Marriott is planning a big hotel on the property that once housed the old lighthouse. I assume this is the same place this new chain is building on...either marriott changed their minds or he had the wrong chain...either way it would be nice to bring something down to that end of the island...moving the Red Light district is interesting as well....see how that pans out...

This resort will undoubtedly lead to the revitalization of San Nicholas.

they'll never move the red light area, it's isolated. no problem, too much history.
when they build a resort on that side bet those guests will be happy in a secluded resort.
that's what they're paying for, privacy. only problem the beaches are all public..

san nicholas will never lose the old aruba charm..

We went to baby beach a couple times in June and the beach was packed then and there were no ships in port. I cant picture it with a huge resort next to it and a cruise ship in. I think it will lose a lot of its charm with a resort in sight.

We didn't stop at baby beach this year the twice we've been it's been absolutely packed, we've enjoyed boca Grandi instead. I can't imagine what it will be like with a hotel there!
