Hi everyone-

We will be in Aruba for a week in June, landing at 1pm on a Sunday. I have read that there are not alot of restaurants/bars open on Sunday. If this is true, can you tell me what may be open. We are not looking for anything fancy, just something with some atmosphere, decent food and good drinks!!!!
We are staying at Playa Linda but dont mind taking public transportation to where we need to go

Honestly, this was true in the past, say about 10 years ago, but nowadays, there are more restaurants and a wider variety of "days off". If you go to http://www.restaurantsaruba.com/ and for each restaurant under the "hours" tab, you will see an option for the hours and day which they are closed, if any.

We just got back and found almost every restaurant located across the road from Playa Linda is open on Sundays. You will definitely not have a problem finding a place to have a nice meal.

----- Many are open on Sundays but many close either on a Sunday, or a Monday, or a Tuesday. At your resort look for the free tourist book call "Menu". It has one page ads on many of the restaurants listing; hours, day closed, telephone #, location on map, selected menu items with prices, if SC is added, ......

Good advice above. I've found most tourist type restaurants open on Sundays. Many local places close on Sunday evenings and Monday evenings also. So if you go native, wait until the middle of the week.

On Sunday it has to be Bugaloe casual, good vibe, great drinks and a beauty sunset, near the Riu on the beach at dePalm pier it is a great starting point for a great night in Aruba! Many reastaurants are within walking distance...Enjoy
