Rethinking Holiday Inn-Please Help!

Hi everyone,

I leave for Aruba in about 3 weeks. I was really excited until I checked Trip Advisor. The latest reviews have been consistently awful and I'm really starting to panic on our decision. We already know that this is not high class hotel, but we do expect a clean place. The reviews about the sewage smell & the infestation of cig. butts all over the beach, mold in the rooms, & paint chipping everywhere sounds like enough for me to change plans. Would someone who's been there recently, please give me an honest review on cleanliness?? I would be so greatful.

Re: Rethinking Holiday Inn-Please Help!

I was just there in April and I stayed in the Aruba Tower it is new and it was very clean. We did meet people that stayed in the C Tower and they had complaints about bugs and mold. I recommend staying in the Aruba Tower and as long as you don't do the AI plan you will be fine. Enjoy

Re: Rethinking Holiday Inn-Please Help!

my sister had the problem when she got there that her room smelled moldy amd looked a little dingy she went to main desk and complained and they moved her into a newer and fresher room. so don't worry, if your room smells moldy and looks dingy just go to main desk they might be able to change your room for you.

Re: Rethinking Holiday Inn-Please Help!

I was there less than a year ago and I knew that it was not a 5star hotel. But the room was very clean, view was great and we had no problems at all. I would never have stayed there! In fact they recently remodeled the lobby and the employees were excellent. As for the cig buts and seweage smell, I have no idea where you are getting this information. That is completely false. I will be back in October-I am staying at the Playa Linda-the beach is right next to the holiday inn-its very nice! Go have a good time and dont worry! You will barely be in the room!

I try my hardest not to read Trip Advisor that thoroughly, although I too check it (make sure there's actually a hotel, etc.). The site can drive you nutty! Everyone experiences and needs are so different.

Hope you have a fab time in Aruba!

Re: Rethinking Holiday Inn-Please Help!

We're going back in Oct. for our 9th trip and always at the HI. I imagine at one time or another people will not like it, but we have always found our rooms clean, the staff great and a beautiful beach. We always have an option to go somewhere else but never do. We like the Bonaire tower, but that is being renovated, so you should try for the Aruba tower.

Re: Rethinking Holiday Inn-Please Help!

We just got back from a wonderful week there--it's our 2nd trip this year.I find a certain group who complain-- has a much higher standard and should pay the price and stay else-where. WE stayed in the aruba tower and made reservations every night at the formal dinner and lunch at seabreeze. The food was good --the beaches were great and the water was clear compared to last feb...Let me tell ---the saying still goes that you pay for what you get and this is more then worht it---you will have a great time and many memories....do however ask for the aruba tower--her name is winnie
