The Occidental also uses a 4 digit code. I think they are very safe buy just to make sure ,when we leave for the day I always have a special way of seeing if the door has been opened since we have left the room. It takes up very little room in a carry-on, and costs about .50.
    Next Aruba trip in

The Ritz, Hilton and Hyatt all use a 4 digit combo that you program. We put everything into the safe and keep it locked 24/7, even when we are in the room so we don't space and walk out and leave it open.

LaCabana uses the 4 digit type safe. Rich & I know the 4 digit code we use for things like this - never even a conversation about it

I am thankful for this thread as I haven't put anything in the safe yet! I really need to get my act together!

We always use the room safe at the Marriott Ocean Club. Enter any 4 digit code to set and Open the safe. Don't forget it !!!

In 2015 Tamarijn installed new safes that utilize a digital code that is set by the guest. Significant improvement over the previous keyed lock safes.

When we were at the Divi in Nov/Dec they still had the lock and key type. I'm assuming since they were placing those it would probably be with the code system which seems the most common. We have never lost anything out of a safe
Not crazy at all. We always put our prescription meds in the safe wherever we travel, along with our passports, extra money and cc's, iPads, and other valuables. We prefer the safes with the 4-digit code you make up yourself.

We put our rx, credit cards, and any other important information..
I do make extra copies of my passports, cc, and rx and leave them hidden in my lock suitcase just in case..
Used to trust people till I lost $$$ from my back pack at work... funny they left the two smallest bills a total of $6.00 (never carry cash again, locked up in the trunk of my car)

Haha! I should have said 'money we're leaving in the safe while we're out in the pool'. Waaay more accurate than EXTRA money.
