"The Safe" is safe. Always use it!

I was once in a hotel in Germany for work and the hotel management lectured me for not using the safe.

many years ago, we had a flashing light on our lacabana unit's phone.
i called the front desk and they asked paul or me to come down.
    we both went.
as it turns out, i had left my earrings and purse on the nightstand and my son had left his ipod on the kitchen counter with a $20 bill rubber banned around it.

the housekeeper, reported it to the office and they called us in and reminded us to use the safe.
it was a little embarrassing but it showed us the HONESTY of the housekeeper and the necessity of being reminded to be careful and use the safe.

I think the bottom line is "the safe only keeps the honest people honest"

Hmmm, I wonder if 007 (the indisputable Sean Connery) would utilize resort safes

we always use the safe,,,,I guess its true that only honest people are kept out.....
Have a girlfriend that refuses to use the safe, puts everything in her drawers with her clothes....I ask her why she won't use safe and she just shrugs and says nobody is going to steal anything.......guess she has more faith in human nature than I do....
But now that I saw those videos I wonder if it is any safer than just using your suitcase or the drawers ????

I never use room safes. I don't unpack my suitcase while away, except for toiletries, unless it's something that needs to be hung up. I have always locked everything in my suitcase.
