Scooters or Jeep rental

Hi,

Air conditioning vs. non air-conditioning but which one would you recommend is the best route of transportation to see most of the Island?
Can you cover most attractions in one rental day whether you rent a vehicle or bike?
Can you take scooters through the rough areas?
Who would you recommend for scooter rentals?

Thanks!

No

---- Would not recommend any. Have rented those in Bermuda but not in Aruba. The roads in Aruba not that good, not wide, bad in the areas that tours go. And the cars go rather fast in Aruba so bikes not safe.
There are all day Jeep tours where you go as a group with a lead jeep. This way you won't get lost and you will see the island.

Rent a 4x4 through one one of the national
chains. Explore on your own. In the tougher places like the natural pool you can follow
the tours down the hills. The speeds in Aruba
are not that fast. 50 mph. at best. Some roads are poor.

don't worry about a/c get yourself a 4x4 (especially if you want to tour the entire island) the sun and the breeze are worth letting your hair down

Re: Scooters or Jeep rental

We have done both- our recommendation would be get a one day rental car WITH AIR...Unless you rent a "jeep" in the a.m. and be back by noon..the dessert is "HOT"- alot of people returned the "Jeeps" by noon...too uncomfortable to do the "whole Island" during the afternoon with no a/c. You can follow the Van's or Jeep Tours..(we have)..this way you bring h20/snacks or even a picnic and if you see a "spot" you like you can stop...wear a bathing suit too..you can stop and take a "swim" at Baby Beach-go snorkling at Malmok Beach and be on your on schedule....We felt the Van trip was a waste of time and $$$...get a map and explore....you won't get lost...and you know you won't drive off the Island...have fun..this is just my recommendation and I'm sure others will have theirs..>!! Re: Scooters or Jeep rental

We rented a Suzuki 4x4 jeep for 7 days and put 450 miles on it. The island is only 20 miles long. It was dirty and hot and a lil scary in places and we loved every mile of it. We went from the light house to the ruins twice, once at sunrise. Nothing like it in the world. Now when it came time to go out in the evening we did need to wipe the jeep out becuase it does get dirty but we didnt care. I guess it would depend on the person. We took a cooler and swimsuits and went where ever we wanted saw beautiful sunrises. and things you wont see from a car. Go out from the lighthouse make sure you are persistant and find the road there are wonders to see. you can go the intire coast if you are courageous. I dont think a car can make the trip.
