My b/f and I are going to Aruba for the first time in May. We thought about renting Halrey's while there, but then thought maybe we could get scooters for a longer period of time, instead of just for the day. As the island sounds pretty small, we thought this might be just as fun. Any thoughts or ideas where we could rent scooters?

There is a place called George's right around the corner from the Harley dealer. They rent all types of motorcycles, scooters, ATV's, etc.

Just as an FYI...

When I honeymooned in Aruba the front desk of the Marriott told me to make sure I was very experienced in motorcycle riding before renting a Harley. The sand and other coditions made riding a bit more difficult/dangerous than in the states. I ended up renting ATV's and has a BLAST!!!! Best of luck in whatever you decide.

are you kidding me?? there is no comparison between scooters and harleys.... Im a harley owner so you can see why i would obviously choose a harley over a scooter anyday......

I would rent the Harley. Even though you have to leave about $1000 for insurance either cash or by credit car. The scooter is to uncomfortable and bumpy for a trip to Baby Beach.

---- A big ditto. Roads are not that good or wide. Other drivers go rather fast.
Recommend taking a all day jeep tour of the island. Or rent a car or take cabs.

if your a experienced rider i would most definatley go with the hd over the scooter due to it being a more pleasant ride then a scooter. i was in aruba from feb.27-march5th and me and my brother had rented a couple hyabusa 1300's(crotch rockets) wich we also own back here in the states and we had a blast ridding them around the island. just be careful of the sand and debris in the road.

I don't think there is a question about comparing scooters to Harleys. We understand that owning a Harley is better than a scooter, but it's more a matter of safety and experience when renting, that's all.

So many choices, guess we will just have to wait until we get there to decide. Thanks for the input!!
