Good luck. You are in the same boat as us. We booked yesterday. I booked several places to dine at only to realize today my plans stink, lol. I fear I am not going to be able to get a cab from the Ritz back to the Hyatt after dinner on NYE. My wife certainly is against walking being all dressed up for NY, and we will also have our 6yr old with us.

First, Cindy, you've done this a million times. You can get it together with your eyes closed. Have a wonderful time and Happy New Year.

ArubaMark, I'm jealous of your spur of the moment trip. Tell your wife to bring a pair of sparkly flat sandals & she'll do fine. And I find it difficult to believe the Ritz hasn't made a commendations for cabs. It is the Ritz after all. Happy New Year to you guys, too!

Friends had that problem of getting a taxi a few years ago on NYE. They family found one SVU and had to pack in 8 people. We always go to the RIU casino on NYE and at midnight watch the fireworks from the front of the RIU. In the past the casino closes at 11:30 so the casino staff can get home by midnight. The casino reopens at either 1 or 1:30 am.

I just contacted my taxi driver friend to see if he works NYE and can pick you up at the Ritz. What time do you plan on going back to the Hyatt?

With everything going on, it sounds like you need Aruba now more than ever! Break out the spreadsheets and all will fall into place Sorry to hear about the fender bender.
Not sure when, but we will be back

Cindy... in the grand scheme of things.... I'm glad you escaped the fender bender and are able to go to Aruba.... That's all that matters! (well, your trip report matters too)!

Hey Liz, that is very kind! We are going to keep our reservations, I have talked it over with the wife and she is willing to at least "pack" sneakers in case we walk back. Our reservations are at 6pm but who knows what will happen on NYE. I am guessing we will be done by 8pm with a 6 yr old. If your friend is looking for business I would be happy to support him, if not no worries, I am very appreciative of the willingness to help me out! Enjoy Christmas.
