She doesn't get it

I was telling my sister-in-law last night that my mother-in-law asked if we are going to Aruba again in March. My SIL's response: You would want to go 2 years in a row? I laughed and said: Ohhh you haven't been to Aruba. I'd go every other month if I couldn't live there. lol
She doesn't get it. And unfortunately she's married to my brother that won't just sit on a beach and chill. He has to be going every second of the day. I keep telling them that I thought my husband would be that way but he loves Aruba! I'm continuing my battle to get them there - if even for a week!

Different strokes really...People feel the same way about Playa Del Carmen, thats the only place they go, I was done after two trips! Im sure I will like Aruba, and may even visit the place again, but you can bet that I will be looking for another spot to vacation next year! I still fairly young though, and haven't traveled much outside the US, so Im hungry to travel to as many places as I can!!

Oh definitely different strokes which is good or Aruba would be packed! LOL
We are doing the every other year thing. We love Aruba but there are so many other places we want to see too. Next year we are going to Yellowstone. 2012 though we'll be hitting Aruba again.

Money and time certainly put a limit on vacations... I can't complain though. We have gone all over the world in the last 10 yrs and now we have settled down with a couple of Aruba trips per year.

I'm a creature of habit when it comes to vacations. I rented a house in RI for a week during the summer for about 20 years. I then discovered Aruba. I went to Barbados once, and it was horrible. I like returning to places where I've been because I'm familiar and I know I will have a nice vacation - vacation time is precious and I don't want to spend it being miserable.

Your not alone, our 27 year old daugher always asks us the same question. I told her we go to Aruba to relax with no agenda and we don't have to make plans. I told her I can do that at home! My Son goes with us to Aruba and he totally gets it!

Oh Captmorgnsgrl you only have 3 days!!!! I wanna go back. (just got home lol)
We always look at other places to go, but after being in Aruba 6 times, I really don't want to go anywhere else. When we went to St. Lucia, I thought that was heaven, but we then tried Aruba and that was it. When we go there, it is like going to our 2nd home. We will take a trip here in the US this year too but will be back to Aruba if not this year, again, for sure next year. I don't care if people "get it" or not. LOL
Have a great time Captmorgnsgrl!!
Pat

Thanks Pat,

I plan on really enjoying this trip..At the ABC when I enter my timeshare unit, housekeeping usally has the drapes closed. First thing I do is set down my bags and swing open the drapes to see a beautiful view....Then I do my Happy dance... Susie

We go to Aruba every year, with a side trip to some place else, and last year twice to Aruba. This year we'll be spenting a week in the Bahamas and then 4 months later we'll be sitting and sipping an adult beverage on the sands of Aruba, can't wait.........
