Re: Sick....

yeah, it seems like you'll have to go back to Aruba!! He was fine while he was there, right? It wasn't Aruba that made him sick, it was leaving Aruba that made him sick!!

Re: Sick....

Could be a lot of things that made him sick.
This same thing happened to me but while I was in Aruba. My best guess would be he had some bad or undercooked shrimp. I was throwing up and had the runs. Lasted for about 36 hours. Think back to what he had to eat on the last day or two on the island. Hope it passes quick. RC

Re: Sick....

Mary, had to laugh at your description wording, " I feel crummy my husband is getting better". Just kidding of course!
95% of the time all this goes away in a full day or two.
Hope you feel better very soon. RC

Re: Sick....

I can't believe that anyone else mentioned this because my husband and I were so sick once we got back from there at the end May. We couldn't keep anything in for over 12 hours! He got it first and hit him the 2nd day home. Mine didn't hit me until a few days later. I actually had to go to the ER because I couldn't keep anything in me for hours and I was so dehydrated and weak. It started to become a scary situation. It all came on pretty quickly and we both became best friends with our toilets for about 12 hours! After that fiasco, we were wipped out for the next 48 hours. It was awful!

We thought that it was something that we caught on the plane coming home. I don't think it was anything that we might have eaten since my illness didn't come on for 5 days after we got home. Who knows what it was? Maybe something funky with the water? I wonder if we all stayed at the same resort and they may be having issues with their water? Nothing seemed abnormal to me while we were there. And we went to Aruba the year before and didn't have any problems.

Regardless, we chalked up as a freak occurance and will be returning there in November!

Re: Sick....

my wife and i also went and got the "runs"! i found some immodiom at a drug store, of course i never took spanish so i had to guess at the dosage. i did ok after that but had 3 rough days until that point. i think it was a bug i caught on the plane because i had the runs after the first meal i ate there and every meal i ate after that for 3 days. when i got back my father in-law had it so guess it is going around.
