Silly Aruba Stories

I need some laughs. Tell me some stories that will get me going... I will provide you with a couple myself...

Last August my family and I were in Aruba. Well we get all the way to the hotel and realize that I left one of the bags at the airport. I was so anxious to get to the hotel that I forgot a bag. So I had to go all the way back to the airport to get it. Luckily I know some people that work in security and they helped me.

This was a few years ago but I was staying at the Mill with a few friends of mine. Well we hung out at the beach all day and then decided to walk back to the hotel. We had consumed a fair amount of the good stuff that day. On our walk back we were carelessly not paying attention to our walking. Well the next thing I know I feel a sharp whip on my leg and looked down to the sight of blood. Little did I know I had stepped a little too close to an iguana friend. He got a bit upset with me and gave me an eye opener! You have to watch out for them little buggers I tell you! LOL!

Anyone have any good ones?

my story

we were snorkeling @ one of the sites near arashi
(it was one of those snorkel boat tours)

i got seasick.........real sick

of course the boat would not bring me back to shore

so i swam in to the beach and made my way back to lacabana .
thanks to the kindness of a taxi driver that took a chance on me being wet and penniless.

i paid him when i got back to my unit

We were at the airport waiting for our flight. while we were sitting in the little cafe area
my mother in laws says "hmmm, That must be a very poplar brand name here in Aruba."
I respond " What name? "
She says " Dufree.. everyone is carrying a bag from them"
I sat there for a minute confused and looking around.. and I see all these people with red and white bags...
I almost busted a gut laughing... She was talking about the bags from the duty free shop! LMAO

Back in 2005 after a evening out with my sister we stopped at the casino and stayed a long time and a few drinks. When we went back to the room I was on the wrong floor and insisted I was right we got the security guard to open the door and their were other people in the room. I was so embarrased!!
OH well

I have several that are not really proper to mention on the forum, but one that happened to a travel agent on one of our organized trip for agents. On Travel agent trips most meals ar eprovided, but not all. One agent forgot to eat one day, and drank a little more than she should. She got sick on the bus and in the hotel lobby, we asked if she ate anything since we did not see her eating, she insisted she did. Make a long story short she thought it was the wrong day, the day she had eaten, and did not trust us to tell her the truth, she asked the front desk.

We have a few funny times, but this one you just to be there...we took our 2 daughters and our 4 other relatives to LaFondue. After a very slow meal, and a few to many martini's my husband and nephew wanted to see the chef...you have to picture the kids sitting over their little pot cooking tiny pieces of meat...meanwhile there is no chef in the place as you cook your own stuff...we then ask the waitress for the # of the local pizza place...it was all in good fun, we weren't as bad as this sounds, and the martini's were outstanding. We did leave starving though and went to sabaro's for pizza...

Sily Aruba Stories

About 10 years ago I climbed the Hooiberg alone as DW didn't want to negotiate the skinny stairs to the top. When I got to the top I stayed up awhile taking in the spectacular scenery of the island and shooting video footage. When I went down DW was
waiting tears in eyes. I asked why. She said I thought something happened like you fell off or heart attack, etc. I said thats not why!
You were crying cuz I had the money & the car keys. I told this story to the cab driver bringing us to the airport & he laughed sooooooo hard.

We still tell story today & laugh.

Sitting on a Bench.......

Our first trip to Aruba......
My wife decided to do more shopping, so I took up a seat on "one" of the benches outside Little Switzerland downtown. After almost an hour of her not in sight I began to worry. Finally I heard a kind security guard say "Here he is ma'am!" My wife was sitting on the exact same bench on the opposite side of the store!!! We had no idea there was one on each side...... and they look identical.

Neither one of us was moving from our spot for fear of missing the other one. The security guard almost passed out laughing when we explained what had happened.

Talking Silly Stories

My husband and I were at one of the rock formations (either Casibari or Ayo) several years ago. A small tour bus pulled up and the occupants exited the bus. When it was time to board the bus to leave, the bus driver opened the door to the bus. And guess what? A goat decided that he wanted to board the bus. Hey, why not? We had a good laugh about that!!!
