Not a big fan of fast food - but would anyday choose Wendy's over McD!

I usually avoid fast food spots at home and definitely when on vacation! :-)
It was nice, tho, to have Dunkin Donuts coffee to start the day!!!
One place that has NO American fast food (and probably never will!) is Bermuda!

Same here! I couldn't tell you the last time I had McD!
I have no desire to eat fast food in Aruba. I'd be too rushed while on vacation!

I've eaten at McD's in Singapore! Was really glad to see it, believe me! And when in Aruba, we occasionally grab a breakfast biscuit when we're on our way somewhere early in the morning. But we just love all the special restaurants and local food on the island!

Looking at the opinion of tourists here on the forum who do not choose fast food on vacation, it stands to reason that the success of fast food in Aruba is based upon the love of it by Aruban people. Otherwise there would be no way for them to all stay in business. Also consider the vast numbers of fast food establishments off the beaten path of Palm Beach or the low rise resorts.

Americanized because the Aruban's want it that way?

We never get to fast food in Aruba, but if you want real fast food this week you have to go to the boardwalk in Jersey for some fresh hand cut fries. NOW that is living!

I just received an email from someone asking

"There is a sign in the dunes near the California lighthouse - it has three rabbits and a mountain with two dates. Could you tell me what it means or it's purpose? Thank you so much."

    Any ideas?

There's a good reason you see so many Subway franchises. It's one of the cheapest franchises to buy and set up and there are no real territory protections.
