Re: single woman visiting aruba - is it safe?

ABSOLUTELY IT IS SAFE!! JUST BE SMART!
Aruba is no different than any town, city, island, state (well, it's different in the fact that it is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, everyone is SO nice and the food on the island is amazing, but other than that.......LOL!)....when you are out and about, always use common sense....

Have fun!

Yes -- very safe

Now I would not walk down a dark road at night all by yourself. There has been a couple of robberies. My wife and daughter usually walk the quarter of a mile to Le Dome for a ladies night out without any concerns. Some of the casinos will escort you back to your resort if you ask.
>>>> "accomodation"
---- Try the Manchebo or Bucuti. There are many restaurants within a short walk, both on a great beach, casino and shopping near, and more.
Things to do:
Always lock your door(balcony also).
Never leave stuff on beach or in rental car.
Leave most cash, credit cards, passport, in locked room safe.
Been coming to Aruba since 1987 and never had any concerns. But to take care.

Single women traveling alone anywhere should be aware at all times.

However, believe me in Aruba you will feel VERY COMFORTABLE while in Aruba. But as I say,and I am sure you are aware, it is up to us to be aware and in control wherever we travel.

ask your choosen hotel of their security camaras on their premisses and follow basic security rules we all follow, dont take ride from strangers keep your drinks allways on sigth, dont walk alone after dark in desolated areas, aruba is safe but you must keep save dont take anything for granted, we have plenty taxi women on the island

Re: single woman visiting aruba - is it safe?

I have been there on my own and never had a problem. I don't go far at night and am careful not to leave doors unlocked. I feel very comfortable at my timeshare. Last week my graddaughter and her friend couldn't find a cab from the Black Hog Saloon after the show so the manager got a police car to deliver them back to the resort. Wouldn't do that here, look what happened in NY recently. Have fun, bring lots of books. Theresa

Even tho I have always gone with someone, I would not be afraid to go alone, and I'm sure you'll have no trouble meeting new friends. I would love to go there alone sometime, you won't have to answer to anyone's else's schedule!
