Have you traveled to Aruba solo....for your entire vacation?

(some of us have been solo for partial visits)

I've traveled twice solo to Aruba. For the second trip, I got sick (airplane crud), so this trip is pretty much a blur. I was a newbie traveling that far solo, so I opted for AI and stayed at the Occidental and RIU Palace. My experience was wonderful! I did not do any tours or anything, pretty much was a beach bum and would visit the pool bar (only time I like a pool!). I would venture off the resort during the day to check out nearby shopping. At night, I would visit the casino and hotel bar.

I would definitely travel solo again in a heartbeat if my bank account allowed it.

I stayed a week on my own before my husband came. Pool aerobics, happy hour, bingo, wine tasting, dinner, and casino on my own. Would walk from LaCabana to the Alhambra most nights and not feel threatened.

I've been to Aruba several times on my own (a few days before my husband arrived and also a couple of 8 day solo trips.) I always stayed at Amsterdam Manor where I knew the staff well. I always rented a car and bummed around downtown during the day and also drove around parts of the island by myself when I was bored from sitting on my butt at the beach. At night I drove to restaurants I was familiar with and/or knew the staff/owners so I'd have someone to chat with at the bar. Hung out with local friends at night where we would have a bite to eat, see a movie, meet for drinks, attend a party or all of the above - a lot of chatting and laughter throughout those evenings.

I haven't, but would in a heartbeat if the opportunity came along. It's one of few destinations I would feel comfortable being on my own in the evenings

I have been fortunate enough to take 3 solo trips over the past two years. While different than my family trips to Aruba they were equally pleasing, just different. I get up, eat a great breakfast, relax by the pool/beach for a bit then I go for a walk. Not a short walk/jog, but a really long one. My walks/jogs range from 4-10 miles depending on the day and where I want to walk to. I return, eat a nice lunch and relax on the beach then head up for a nap. I love to nap in Aruba! I get up, either go out to dinner with an island friend, or go and eat where they are working so I can support them...I then head out to gamble and drink until the wee hours of the morning with my island friends. The next day I would press repeat and do the entire thing over again, lol. My solo trips have been 5 nights in length each time.

I have a TON of points for hotel rooms, or I will when I change my Xmas plans and keep my points, and enough points for a free plane ticket so if/when I stock away some spending money I will be taking one again next year.

I have never taken a solo trip to Aruba. Actually I've never taken a solo trip period. I would feel completely comfortable staying in Aruba solo, but think I would get bored too easily. I SO enjoy sharing the experience with someone!

Of course, if I did go solo I could spend more time researching and enjoying the history of the island/museums/etc.

While I've been on a few solo trips, it has never been to Aruba. If Tom doesn't stop dragging me to Vegas, I may just need a solo to Aruba! That said, if I did Aruba solo, here's what my day would look like:
Early morning - leisurely breakfast in the room, on the balcony, watching Pelicans fish
Midmorning - on the beach, under a palapa, then a few hours in the water, floating with the waves
Lunch - still on the beach and raising my flag for beach service
Late afternoon - probably a nap
Dinner - taxi to one of my favorite restaurants for a light meal and a nice glass of wine
Early evening - hit the casino for as long as the slots are favorable
End of day - cup of tea with something sweet while sitting on the balcony listening to music
Next day - repeat, repeat, repeat

Aruba and Disney are 2 places that i am very familiar with. I think, although not certain, I could go alone.

i am quite certain that i could NEVER eat alone in a restaurant anywhere.
In Aruba, I would probably do take out for dinner and eat at wherever i was staying.

i would have no issues alone on the beach, in the water or in a casino.

i am not a good flyer, so i am not sure who would hold my had during take offs.
