some dress code advice!

Hi everyone we will be leaving for Aruba on the 3rd of September, visiting some restaurants i have never been to and was just wondering what the dress code is. I know the island is pretty casual, and most of the restaurants i visted last time were that way also. How about the Sunset Grille at the Raddison, Madame Jeanettes, and French Steakhouse. I figure outdoor dining is casual but what about indoors. Are capri's ok for woman? Any advice you could give me would be appreciated. I cant way to get there!!!!!

Re: some dress code advice!

CAsual slacks and nice shorts are accepted everywhere. I would take a pair of comfy jeans or loose fitting slacks for some of the places due to the fact that outside tables can sometimes have mosquitos

be well

Hi Lori,

IMO, Capri pants or a simple sun dress are just fine. You can always dress it up with jewelry or nice shoes.

You will find people 'dressed to the nines' or ultra casual - middle of the road seems to work best.

ENJOY!

I wear capri/pant sets every night when going out to dinner. Places like Madame Janette's which are outdoors are very casual - shorts and a nice polo and as stated above capri and pant sets for me. Long pants are required at LeDome for inside dining and Chez Mathilde. The dress code is called "nice casual".

Capri's are fine for women.

Even the most posh restaurants are resort casual - gents must wear shirts with collars and long pants. Those are LeDome and Chez Mathilde.

Casual wear is definitely OK at Sunset Grill and Mad Jeanettes. Not certain about the French Steakhouse.

Re: some dress code advice!

Most of the restaurants are casual but for dinner I would avoid all denim and sneakers. Slacks/cotton capris and a nice top (not a t shirt) should work. I dont think denim is prohibited but this is just my personal preference. Enjoy!

Re: some dress code advice!

Capris are fine for women at any restaurant on the island. It's rather warm each night, so you want to wear light clothing.

We only ran into 1 instance where someone in our group did not meet the dress code. At Le Dome, one of them guys had shorts on and the hostess offered him a pair of pants they had in the back. However, this is a big guy.. 6'8" so they didn't have pants that fit him. Le Dome allowed us to sit on the porch.
