No spill on or near aruba.
It is near Trinidad and Tobago.
Some bits and oil chunks are in aruba.
I do not think that anyone's pushing the panic button.

I read a story that said several wells in Trinidad/Tobago have been leaking since December. Lots of damage to the wildlife there. Evidently the oil company there is state owned or sponsored and it was learned that the leaking wells have not been inspected or repaired for 20 years.

Some oil is washing up on the rough side of the island. It is not supposed to effect the hotel area. Some of the photos that I have seen on social media show oil washing up on the shore where crews of workers are doing their best to contain the oil. I am here on the island now and the story is dominating the local media.

On a side note, we experienced two separate power outages yesterday but all is well now.

Bad enough that the oil spill is affecting our local water, it's even worse that it has drifted across to Venezuela and now its reached the ABC islands. What makes me feel even worse about it is that this spill originated in one of my country's main industries. Since the leak was first discovered it's been a blame game between Petrotrin and the Unions. And in the middle of all this the PNM (People's National Movement) government is not doing a damn thing.
