Have been to both-the choice is Aruba. Both islands are beautiful however the people of Aruba are far superior to St.Lucia in every way.

Re: st lucia vs aruba

Girst of all the people, the arubian people are THE BEST. Secondly, St. Lucia does have more plant life and lush vegetation, but we know that's due to rain. and above all, don't drink that water in St. Lucia!!! Plan your trip to WONDERFUL Aruba and you won't be sorry....

Re: st lucia vs aruba

we went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon in June of 05. We stayed at the Sandals Resort. St. Lucia was a pleasant different choice from Aruba. We didn't have the constant sun like we did in Aruba. It rained very often compared to the dry climate of Aruba. Yes St. Lucia has a rain forest and is different compared to the desert of Aruba. You don't have the freedom of just walking outside of your resort like in Aruba. We totally loved Sandals and the quality of the food. If we had the option we would probably go back to Aruba instead of St. Lucia. Although we loved the Sandals resort and meal plan. If there was ever to be a Sandals resort in Aruba, That would be my choice hands down!

Re: st lucia vs aruba

Went to St. Lucia on my honeymoon. Stayed at Sandals and basically never left the resort. We went shopping one day but did not feel the warmth from the people that you do in Aruba. Aruba is much easier to get around and nice to be able to go to different restaurants and feel safe and comfortable out and about on your own. I love to snorkel and in Aruba you can snorkel right from the shore in many areas in St. Lucia you had to go on a boat to get to the reef. We had a great time in St. Lucia but I prefer Aruba.

When I was in St. Lucia I thought the people were rude. I don't plan on ever going back. I absolutely loved Aruba. The people are much friendlier and the beaches are far more superior than those of St. Lucia.

Re: st lucia vs aruba

tim,

I think you are asking a very bias group. Perhaps you should investigate other avenues for the sake of objectivity.

IMHO skip St Lucia check St John!

BTW I'm sure that some will write some things which are postive about St Lucia and will not be posted here for that very reason.

Good night and good luck.

Aruba has guaranteed weather! And great people! In spite of the neg. publicity, it is a very safe island.
