I will be traveling to Aruba soon. Can anyone tell me if there are any Starbucks on the island?????

We were there last July & there were no Starbucks .....there are a couple of Dunkin Donuts.

Do we really need a Starbucks?? What then, Walmart?? Aruba is such a special place...lets leave it that way. I've owned a timeshare for 14 years and when my husband and I purchased it, there was a cap on developing the island.....what happened??

We don't need a Dunkin' Donuts or a McDonalds either....the entire character of the island takes on a different feel and becomes too Americanized.....while the development is great for Aruba's economy it also brings problems as the government needs to hire workers from South America and that brings a different set of problems.

I've been to a number of islands over the years and Aruba is by far the friendliest and safest....lets leave it the way it is and enjoy the beautiful people, sun, sand and surf while we can.

We have been told by a local friend that Tomato Charlie's offers Starbucks coff with your pizza but no there are no Starbuck's shops on the island.

My memory might not be so hot, but I thought that the Ren's lobby bar was a Starbuck's vendor? Its been a few years since we were there but I could have sworn it was a Starbucks' Cafe Mocha Latte.

I too love to start my day with a great cup of Starbucks. Although the local coffee is good, I still prefer Starbucks. I solved the problem by taking my own bag and filters. The hotel we always stay in has an in-room coffeemaker,so I substitute my coffee and start my days out great. Great coffee, great island....doesn't get much better than that!!

Guys can't you forget about your Dunkin Donuts and you Starbuck for a week or so really! The reason we love Aruba so much is because it doesn't have the things we have at home that's a vacation. When I buy my Dunkin Donuts coffee in the morning I go straight into work.

Jo - I totally agree with you. It is a beautiful island and years ago no one cared if there was anything American there - they just loved it for what it was.

Stay home - there's no Applebee's in Aruba either. You'll starve.
