THE STEAK WAS DEEEESHUS

We try to stay away from recommending restaurants. My feeling is that food tastes are up to the individual and most often what is great for one does not make it for the others. That said, - worth mentioning is that last night we went to the RIO steak house. The place was packed and not a grumpy face in the crowd.

The wait staff saw that Jr. was fidgeting and brought him soup and some garlic bread. I ate the bread and only left one piece for the little guy - I guess that makes me a cretin!! Anyway the lady that served us took the time to chat with Jr. and after finishing his soup he insisted we had to show her the empty bowl. Impressive!. We wanted to bring that gal home for dinner every day of the week.

Our meats were brought to us on a platter prior to being cooked so we could inspect and OK them. We did and in momments had two sizzling steaks with all trimmings in front of us. That was a noble cow!!
Light coffee afterwards and Jr. had ice-cream.

Re: THE STEAK WAS DEEEESHUS

Charles that is my favorite steak place on the island. I go at least twice during my visits. Always sit at the bar though and have fun watching sports and chatting with Howard the bartender. See you in 29 days and still counting.

Re: THE STEAK WAS DEEEESHUS

CHARLES,

You are making me hungry man!!!

You know the weather here in South eastern PA is getting really nice 70's and everything is really blooming- dogwoods in pink and white. Bright yellow forsythia, huge flowering magnolia trees and all kinds of flowers just exploding.

I was feeling kind of sorry for you since you don't get to truly experience springtime and thought that perhaps this year for a change you might like to exchange homes with us for a month or so. My wife and kids will be heartbroken to miss to beauty of late spring up here but would make the sacrifice. Please give me a call and I can make the arrangements very easily.

Your Friend,

Suds

Re: THE STEAK WAS DEEEESHUS

Hi Charles,

As always, thanx for your wonderful insights of life on our favorite island!

We have been coming to Aruba for many years now and have enjoyed steaks at a lot of great places, (El Gaucho and The French Steak house just to name a couple). Last September we tried Rio for the first time and were instantly sold! The quality of the food, service, and ambiance are all top flight!!

Will be returning in July,(and bringing some friends for thier first island visit!!), And Rio will surely be on the agenda!!!

Bon Tarde...
David
