Storm DANNY and it's position and potential of sucking away trade winds

Attachment 4237 Still very early in the game, but if Danny continues on its present course, it does have the potential of sucking out the beautiful trade winds.
The trade wind loss is a very common occurence when there is a storm to the north/east and north/west of Aruba.

I started watching Danny yesterday after we were advised of it here at work. I'm hoping it will move on before next week. We have been on the island when a storm has sucked away the winds and man is it hot without them. Right now the models have it turning slightly north, should it track straight into the Caribbean at least we have trip insurance.

here's hoping it does not suck away the winds....however once it is just a little east of puerto rico, the sucking begins.

as it looks now, aruba is not in the path

Oh no! We fly down tomorrow. Is it really unbearable to be outside without the tradewinds? Should we expect to see any of the rain?

we have been in aruba many times without tradewinds and it is hot and humid.
but, the pools and the ocean make it very comfortable.

you'll have to wait it out re: any rain.
they spaghetti models are not that far west yet with the storm.

aruba for all intents and purposes is classified as out of the hurricane belt.
that being said, on occassion there are bands of rain associated with storms that do come in.

it is too far out at this point, to see how close danny will come.

our local news here in FLA is saying the storm will weaken significantly due to the cooler waters and the dry sahara air .

you will have a blast even if the winds are lighter than normal.
    (currently they are not light)

Thank you! I can't wait to get there. I need to stop reading the news because all it seems they're talking about is this storm and a strike at Logan which is affecting the non union workers who handle baggage and cleaning of planes. So far they're not expecting Jet Blue to be affected. Keeping my fingers crossed for an easy travel morning.

I'll take extreme heat over a hurricane any day.
