surf club

We will be arriving for our week's stay on July 29. Based on this board, we are concerned about noise on pool/lazy river side...construction and music which begins blaring at 7:00 a.m. Should we request to face the Ocean Club side to avoid all this and have a little less scenic view? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Re: surf club

You cant even hear the construction at all. Anywhere you stay will be perfect.

Re: surf club

I too will be arriving on the 29th. My concern was that I "heard" that the lazy river was crowed, being used by all of the other Marriott patrons. Finally we have something special and can't wait to enjoy it. Hopefully this will not be true.

Re: surf club

I would face the Ocean Club, but only because I prefer to see the setting sun from the balcony. If you are poolside, you won't see it. As far as the crowds go, be prepared for a pretty crowded resort. I just returned (07-08 thru 07-15) and found the pools to be very crowded. This with what I was told was a slow time of year, and occupancy off by 70 %. Ninety percent of the chaises and chairs are reserved with towels by 8:00 am, so get to a choice area early. Many of the people at the pool/lazy river I spoke to were from the Ocean Club. I guess they feel entitled, and maybe they are entitled, but I disagree with that policy.
I really can't imagine where all of the guests will sit by the pool once the last phase is completed. Combine that with the busy (holiday) weeks and I predict chaos bordering on mayhem. You won't find me there during any peak periods.
Oh, you can here the construction crews just fine. Except for their lunch break, expect occasional loud bangs and pretty frequent use of pneumatic equipment.
