Hi John,
Yes the docks were still there as of January 8th. I'm not sure when they are supposed to move them. We were told during our tour by the sales reps that Marriott had finally secured a deal to purchase the property.
John, we were there last week and the docks are still there. They are going to be moved by end of this year. They did't bother anything. I like to see the boats come in and see the caught. In fact I bought a fish from one of the boats a cooked it on the grill. Have fun. The Surf Club is a great place. Kent
We are staying currently at the Surf Club and took a tour yesterday to purchase another one. We asked about the docks and they said they will be moved to the end of the road opening up the beach a little more and blocking moombas view. They say they will start in april and its a four phase process because they do not want to block the beach completely. Keep in mind that they promissed they would be moved by july 2005 also. They claimed its all politics and with the elections things had to be delayed. We shall see.
When we were at the Surf Club last September, we were told that the docks were supposed to be moved 'later on this year.' They are also planning to relocate the small restaurant in front of the docks (Hadichuri - sp?) - no ETA on the relocation.
I was told that it would be done this summer when it is not the busy season. Apparently, the hold up was the environmental study needed to move the docks. Now that it is complete, they are ready to go.
