You need to make sure your phone has been activated for an international roaming account.

Cingular/AT&T Customers can access information "Traveling Outside the US". You need to know if your wireless device will work in Aruba.

We have used dh's AT&T phone for "a couple of minute" phone calls to my in-laws on Christmas when we have not been in NJ and it is perfect for that. But, if you are going to do any substantail calling from AUA to the states, it is still cheaper to rent a phone or buy a phone card.

In June I will let you all know how his new smart phone works in AUA through his AT&T account. Of course the reason he needed the phone besides work was so that he could use the really really cool
ARUBA RINGTONES
Download MP3 ring tune for your cell phone

He loves it! Now he ALWAYS knows when the phone is for HIM. It is soooo unique!

Cell Phone Use

We haven't been to Aruba in a few years and are wondering if things have changed. We have previously rented cell phones at the airport. We have AT&T nationwide service in the States. Does anyone know if our phones will work or do we need to rent one? Also, prices???
Thanks for any help.

Remember to check ur bill since calls that didn't connect also gets billed. By this I mean calls that didn't go through (no dial tone) vs calls that weren't answered.
