Tam and Divi

Why has the Tam and Divi raised their
rates so much???

Would like to come back to Aruba but
since there has been a big increase in the Tam and Divi rates,
and with airfare it makes it almost
too pricey....

Maybe Aruba does not want return business...

Re: Tam and Divi

They've all gone up way too much in Aruba. We will be going soon, but will be the last trip unless they smarten up and drop back the prices. They are not the only island in the caribbean!!! Are you listening Aruba??

Re: Tam and Divi

I heard its the Aruban Government raising taxes to compensate for the increased expenses to cover the Natalie Halloway fiasco. Of course any surcharge or tax is passed on to the consumer. Don't know how valid this is but it was from a reliable source.

At the Hampton Inn in Boston , at Logan airport , we paid 189.00 for 1 night and left car there for 2 weeks , last May . This year we are paying 249 .00 for the same . I think prices are increasing every where .

Re: Tam and Divi

Hey Josh,

Aruba is very pricey these days! No doubt about it. Kelvin is right w/ supply & demand.

Airfare is killer, then staying even at a place like LaCabana cost more than it should really. Food is probably the best value. Beer is so over priced - so is hard alcohol can you say GREEEEED?!?!Just ridiculous - SEVEN DOLLARS FOR A TEN (10) OZ BEER? Come on I KNOW IT IS "IMPORTED" but that means they make $168 for 24 beers they purchase for $30 !!!

The weather is always nice, people are friendly and don't hassle you to buy things- the island is pretty safe - so there are a lot of things going for little Aruba...but it is getting TOO expensive for some people.

Re: Tam and Divi

the costs of doing business goes up, the price we pay goes up. that's life in big business. nobody likes it. i have seen the cost of airfare triple and my timeshare maintenance fee double in the last 20 years.
i would'nt trade my time in aruba for any other place.

Re: Tam and Divi

Josh,

you missed the boat. The Tam and Divi slashed prices in January 25% to meet the American and Delta winter sale of airfare to Aruba. It's to late now. Gary, I would love to hear who this reliable source is, I don't buy it.

Re: Tam and Divi

Nick, for your information I do Aruba 2 - 3 times a year. I am a repeat customer from the Tamarjin. I speak with the management quite frequently. According to Francis, this was his opinion on the reasoning for increased rates. Take it for what its worth!
