The h2o in aruba is probably the best in the world. They have a desal plant there and essentially "brew" their own. No worries about getting sick!

The tap water in Aruba is great - we just refill our water bottles every day right from the tap.

in fact, the beer, water bottles, and coke are all made with aruban desalinated water. i believe their bottled watter (awa) won some quality test a few years ago for purity and taste.

aruba has the 2nd largest desalination plant in the world - after saudi arabia. they also say that aruban water is also the most expensive in the world as it uses petro from the refinery to boil the sea water - that's why they reuse the treated sewage water for plants and such. i guess they try to make the most of it.

We toured Aruba's Desalination Plant back in 2005 - it was really interesting. I always miss their water when I come home....it's not only great tasting but it makes my hair feel nice and soft.

Me in my hard hat!

not to mention that the there's no cold water in the showers b/c of the pipes being above ground.

How's the water?

Question from my husband to all you frequent Aruba travelers. He remembers the water was hard, not pleasant to drink... it's been 30 yrs since his last visit. Can I rest his mind that the water is ok??

The water on Aruba is as good if not better than any bottled water.

They have a new water treatment plant (an acquaintance of mine was involved in the design/construction). It is excellent quality, you won't find better.

The plant uses a series of high technology steps to take sea water and convert it to high quality fresh drinking water.
