terrafuse aruba (glass/ceramics) tours, classes, shopping

    http://www.terrafusearuba.com

this is a very unique place that is home to artisans (glass blowers, bead makers, ceramics, pottery etc)
they offer workshops/instructions, that are 3 hours in length.

if you are looking for an activity that does not involve the beach, watersports, this may be the ticket!

i have written to them for more information.

I have been there for a visit in 2010. It's a LOVELY location, a typical cute little cunucu house with a most enchanting garden! The artist demonstrated some of his glass blowing techniques. It always amazes me how many talented people live in Aruba. I would definitely recommend going.

Here are a few photos I took (first five photos):

I was hoping to get there last trip but it didn't happen. Love their pieces. The glass bead making class sounds fun but in the Aruba heat I'm not sure I would enjoy it.

They also do pottery. It's a beautiful setting. We filmed part of the show there but it didn't make it to air.

There was a clay pot I was interested in with a blue iguana on top. I thought I might find it at the Coscheca store but they didn't have it. I believe there studio is only open 2 days a week.

I would love to take the kids there for a workshop. It would be awesome to craft their own souvenir

Terrafuse - Glass and Ceramic Local Shop

I just purchased this art piece made from murano glass from a shop very close to our home here. The artist is Ciro Abath and his shop name is Terrafuse. He and his wife Marian, specialize in blown glass and clay sculptures. Their clay is unique in that they use clay that they themselves collect from different areas of the island. If you want to try something other then beach activities, They also offer classes in pottery and glass blowing.

Checkout their website for additional information. www.arubaglassceramics.com

Thank you Marian for taking time today to provide us with a tour of your facilities.
