Thanksgiving

Hello,

Does anyone have information for Thanksgiving in Aruba. Do they celebrate the holiday? Any suggestions for a restaraunt?

Thanks, Kathy

Re: Thanksgiving

Most restaurants have their regular menu along with a special Thanksgiving menu which consists of a turkey/ham traditional dinner. Several of the larger hotels have a Thanksgiving buffet that you must get a reservation for. You won't have any problem findinga special meal for the day.

Re: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a US Holiday however some restaurants and several hotels honor our Holiday and you can get a turkey dinner if you want. I will also be there for Thanksgiving this year but think I might go to Madame Janette's to celebrate and forget the turkey dinner - I'm not a big fan of turkey anyway. Happy Thanksgiving to you and enjoy your vacation....Cheryl

Re: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a US holiday, and not celebrated by Aruba, or anywhere else in the world.
However, we do like to accomodate our US guests and the hotels and restaurants offer many special Thanksgiving menus.
For those guests with kitchen facilites: the supermarkets carry Butterball turkeys, Stovetop stuffing and even sometimes fresh cranberries. Canned is always available.
The Hyatt usually offers a 'turkey to go' dinner, call for information.

Re: Thanksgiving

I will also be in Aruba for Thanksgiving this year. This is my first trip to Aruba. I have heard so many great things about Madame Janette's I was thinking about going there as well. How far in advanced do you think we need to book a reservation, we will be a party of 11. We will probably have our Turkey dinner at home before we go to Aruba.

Re: Thanksgiving

We have been there for Thanksgiving in the past and just forgot about it and had a regular meal in a restaurant. When we came back home then we made our traditional dinner!!
