Thanks Cindy, when I get home I'll call them. Then I'll just order a paper white. They can put all my books on there.

The security guard here said Aruba needs to get on the ball. It's getting bad. He said he's afraid people may want to avoid here. I wouldn't go that far, lol.

Gaby, Sorry to hear about the robbery but as I think that they had your car keys, what if they would have taken off with your rental car. Its really good that you got the car and the keys back. About 15 years someone thru a rock threw my window and stole all my stuff. The timeshare place I was staying at made a copy of my license so I took that with me and when I got home, I just ordered a new one and it was painless. You still really feel violated when this happens to you but I am very glad you didn't loose a lot more. I lost $3500 worth of stuff back then but my home owners covered everything. Good luck.

Unfortunately in NJ we have to go to DMV, bring the six point documentation & pay the fee. I wish we could just do it online. I'm glad they left the keys for the car but please people, don't steal. Get a job, even if it's at McDonald's. It aggravates me so much that people think you can work for something & they can just take it. It boils down to laziness. It annoyed me so much when I worked in court. I can almost excuse stealng food but nothing else.

Sorry to hear that Gaby! Everyone... Crime is on the rise on our little piece of paradise. It's the Venezuelans. Even my buddy from the Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) says it is a huge issue for the island. They are still trying to figure out what to do. They have their recommendations but it's up to the government to do something about it. Everyone keep an eye out.

Sorry to hear about this situation Gaby. There are few things I detest as much as a thief. Just remember although they stole things from you that have most definitely inconvenienced you, it could have been worse. I have darn near every kindle ever made. IMO the originals were the best (mainly because the whispernet on those was amazing) but the paperwhites are simply amazing. If you aren't looking for amazing the kindle touch models are great for beach reading and can sometimes be found on sale for around 40 dollars.

I noticed on Amazon in "managing devices", I can deregister. I wonder if I do, does that mean I lose all my books or do they remain in the library.

i hate that Aruba has been tainted for me.

I looked at the online support forum at Amazon and people are saying they list contents when deregistering. I would suggest going to the customer support link and asking through the online chat. I've found Anazon to be very responsive.
